My last weekend I went to Philly. My best friend Lisa and I went down on Sat. morning (5am) to visit my best friend Nikki who is beautifully pregnant! It was so fun. We left on Sunday around noon. As I told them, we drove all that way for a glorified sleep over and it was worth it! I adore spending time with both Lisa and Nikki.
There is something about going home. Something about being with Nikki, who has known me for 22 years (since 2nd grade) that makes me feel so at peace. It was a unique experience for me to sit with Lisa and Nikki at breakfast (to which I ate pork roll...yummy!) and talking about our experiences growing up. I guess I tell these stories about myself and to have the person who experienced it with me right there is so validating. I adore her. I adore the little babina (I think it's a girl) inside her. And I ADORE her hubby Shawn.
So it was a great way to end my vacation. I couldn't wait to get home to Matt and Ella but of course that night I cried. Not that I want to be in Philly again but it is going home and having to leave. Going back to your childhood and having to leave. I haven't experienced those places in Philly as an adult as I have as a child so my memories are very different. It's perfect. My memories are perfect. Nikki is perfect. Lisa is too!

p.s. Nikki's dog bit me as soon as I walked in the door. Not a big deal. I promised Nikki I wouldn't make a big deal about it. It was my first dog bite though. It has healed very nicely. No scaring. Welcome home :) I love you Dante...although I love Nino more...
